Defining beauty for yourself
Defining beauty for yourself
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! We are living in a society where we are trained from childhood to define beauty from a particular perspective. Every community has there own description of beauty. You can recognize it when you start to associate with them, or by looking at social media and magazines. Soon you realized what you ought to be beautiful or handsome doesn’t apply. As humans, We tended to compare ourselves from a society perspective of beauty. You might say you don’t, but the truth is you do it every day.
How you do it is this.
If a specific part of your body, you don’t find it attractive and wish to change, it is because you have an image in your imagination you are comparing with it. These images we have in our heads we outsource outsides ourselves, Which makes us living every single day, judging and rebuking our bodies.
True self_love
True self-love comes from accepting your self fully and Say i am perfect as i am. And strongly appreciate your body. Every day of your life until you die, As psalms 136:14 says.
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made,
your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
How to practice self-acceptance and self-love
Stand naked in front of a mirror where you can see your body from head toe. And a firm to yourself; I am the most beautiful person. I am the most handsome person. At first, it will feel awkward but with every repetition. You will start to believe it. For more self-affirmation click Here. Next, you want to look at those sections on your body that you don’t find attractive. And Say I accept you, and I am thankful for the role you are playing in my body. Or you can read to yourself psalm 139:14 from the bible. Remember to repeat until it becomes your truth. Every time you caught yourself comparing yourself appearance to that of someone else, repeat the affirmation or the bible verse above.
Stop this
Spending all your life hating a specific area of your body doesn’t make you feel better. It only makes you more ashamed of it. Instead of focusing on that part of your body, you dislike in terms of how it appears. Start looking in terms of the value it adds and the role it plays in your body. If you don’t know, you can always google the functions of that area. In short, stop perceives those areas from the lens of appearance.
Define beauty for yourself by looking at your body, not from your imagination or society perspective. The true meaning of beauty is how you look today, Remember as you go through life your body will change to many forms, And the reference of beauty is how you look at every stage of your life, so take care of it. Make sure to Nourish your body by feeding it well, hydrated and exercise it always.
Until next time, be true to yourself.
Until next time, be true to yourself.
